"This dessert we cooked at Mt Pleasant Neighbourhood House is called chè khoai lang. It's a sweet potato dessert with coconut milk and tapioca pearls. This one that I made is just a simpler version from my grandma since we didn’t have all the ingredients."
Grayson Truong was born in Haiphong, Vietnam in 2000 and has been living in Vancouver since December 2019. Grayson has been a volunteer high-school student tutor for low-income students since January 2020, and has been volunteering as a cook, tutor and translator at the Mt Pleasant Neighbourhood House since March 2020 specifically focusing on warm meals, medical translation and emotional support for Vietnamese elders and immigrants during the pandemic. He is a student at BCIT Accounting and enjoys cooking and trying new cuisine, watching movies and listening to podcasts.
